Our local Girl Scouts do a lot more than sell cookies, and there is nothing wrong with cookies. Local Girl Scouts have helped to collect food and donations for the local and regional food for the homeless and those in financial need. Many schools in the area also have donated and worked long hours to offer a hand to many around the globe. Good work gals and keep it up. Girl Scout Leadership Institute: The GSLI is a girl event for Senior & Ambassador Girl Scouts that occurs prior to, Thursday, November 10, 2011, the National Council Session. Approximately 1000 Girl Scouts from around the country, USA Girl Scouts overseas and girls from other WAGGGS membership organizations convene for this very special leadership event. Access to all dedicated GSLI sessions, opening/closing ceremonies, keynote speakers, Young Women of Distinction, Strategic Conversations, Hall of Exhibits, and more; does not include access to the National Council Session. ![]() Promise
On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law. The Promise is often recited at Girl Scout troop meetings while holding up the three middle fingers of the right hand, which forms the Girl Scout sign. Girl Scout policy states that the word "God" may be interpreted depending on individual spiritual beliefs. When reciting the Girl Scout Promise, "God" may be substituted with the word dictated by those beliefs. The Girl Scout Motto is "Be Prepared." Law
I will do my best to be Honest and Fair, Friendly and Helpful, Considerate and Caring, Courageous and Strong, and Responsible for what I say and do, And to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout. Motto
